Great to meet you!

With fifteen years of experience working in mental health as an advocate, counselor, nurse, therapist, and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I bring a breadth of knowledge to my work. Before becoming a nurse, I completed a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Anthropology. I completed an associate degree in Nursing at City College of San Francisco. I followed that with a Master of Science in Nursing from UCSF. In addition, I am in my second year in the Psychotherapy Therapy Training Program at The Psychotherapy Institute. I am currently a volunteer clinical faculty member at UCSF School of Nursing. Previously, I was a board member of the Bay Area Hearing Voices Network. In my free time, I enjoy relaxing with family, cycling, and soccer.

My approach to therapy

In working together I want to understand where you have been, where you are now, and where you hope to be. As a relational psychodynamic psychotherapist, I am interested in your story, your current struggles, unconscious factors that may influence behavior and experience, and how our relationship can help shed light on relational patterns in other areas of your life. For some people, psychotropic medications can be helpful, and I am happy to collaborate with you on use of these medications as well. In certain situations, I can help with tapering and discontinuation of psychotropics as well.

Some of the issues that I have expertise in include depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, psychosis, ADHD, PTSD, issues around sexuality, and interpersonal conflict.

What you can expect from me

A sense of being heard, a deeper understanding of your problems, and a plan for moving forward to address these challenges.
