Great to meet you!

Hello! I'm Mara - I am dedicated to helping individuals navigate life's challenges with compassion, honesty, and practical support. I earned my Master of Social Work from Capella University and completed my practicum and internship as a school social worker before joining a nonprofit organization, where I continue to provide therapy to children, adolescents, adults, and families.

Outside of therapy, I'm a certified yoga teacher, a wife and mom, and I enjoy thrifting, home decorating, and discovering a great cup of espresso. I believe caring for ourselves in both big and small ways is an important part of overall well-being, and I strive to bring that same sense of balance and authenticity into my work with clients.

My approach to therapy

I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to make meaningful change. My approach balances empathy with gentle accountability, helping clients build insight while developing the skills and confidence to move toward the life they want. I believe every person is unique, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck, we'll work together to better understand your experiences and identify realistic, meaningful goals.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is all about getting to know each other. We'll talk about what brings you to therapy, what you're hoping to gain from the process, and any concerns or questions you may have. There's no pressure to share everything at once—I believe trust develops over time, and we'll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Together, we'll begin identifying your goals and create a plan that supports your unique needs and strengths.
