Great to meet you!
Marbel is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over twenty-five years of experience providing psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults, and families from diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. She specializes in treating a broad range of issues including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, sexual abuse, grief and loss, behavioral problems, relationship conflicts and life transitions.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Marbel brings a culturally competent and compassionate approach to her work. She is a Qualified Supervisor for Clinical Social Work Interns and holds a Master of Social Work degree from Rutgers University (1993), as well as an Advanced Certificate in Clinical Social Work from New York University (2001).
Marbel began her career in 1989 with the Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS) in Paterson, New Jersey, where she worked as a case manager investigating child abuse and neglect. It was during this time that she developed a strong interest in working with survivors of abuse—an area that would become a cornerstone of her clinical focus.
She transitioned into mental health counseling in 1993 and has maintained a private practice since 1999. After relocating with her family to Central Florida in 2003, she continued her work in private practice and, in 2011, founded Mid Florida Counseling, LLC, a group practice dedicated to delivering high-quality, client-centered therapeutic services to the local community.
In addition to her clinical work, Marbel is a Certified Critical Incident Stress Debriefing(CISD) Specialist, offering on-site debriefing and consultation services for the past 20 years to organizations responding to crises, including grief, loss, and trauma in the workplace. She has also conducted adoption home studies and post-placement visits.
