Marc-Andre Rameau

Hi there! I’m Marc-Andre Rameau, a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Colorado. I completed my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Florida in 2015 and later went on to obtain a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling and an Educational Specialist Degree from Florida State University in 2017. Over the years, I've held various clinical roles at community mental health centers in Colorado Springs and Canon City, including Assertive Community Treatment Clinician, Mobile Crisis Clinician, Community Response Team Clinician, and Counseling Supervisor. These experiences have shaped my passion for helping people overcome their mental health challenges and lead fulfilling lives.

I am particularly passionate about facilitating therapeutic growth in clients who suffer from severe and persistent mental illnesses, such as Schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and Bipolar disorders. Collaborating with my clients to reduce their psychiatric admissions, mitigate psychotic symptoms, improve their mood, and process their trauma brings me immense joy. I take pride in helping new clients navigate their mental health needs and discover ways to improve their mental well-being.

In therapy, I prioritize building a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients. My approach is flexible and solution-focused, aimed at determining the best techniques to assess risk, develop safety plans, increase insight into diagnoses, and provide skills training for coping with symptoms. My treatment modalities are evidence-based and include Behavioral Activation, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.
