About Marc Maccini, LMHC

Helping you find your voice and find your way.

If you feel "stuck"—whether in your career, your relationships, or your own skin—you aren't alone. Often, the path forward isn't about working harder, but about finding the right tools to navigate life with more confidence and clarity. I specialize in helping individuals break through those plateaus, develop firm assertiveness skills, and reclaim their sense of direction.

Background: I earned my Master of Education (M.Ed) from the University of Massachusetts and am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). My background in both education and the arts allows me to bridge the gap between clinical expertise and real-world relatability.

My approach to therapy

My Approach I believe therapy should feel like a warm, insightful conversation with a wise friend. As a musician and a therapist, I bring a creative and intuitive approach to our sessions. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions; instead, I listen for the unique "composition" of your life to help you harmonize your goals with your actions. My style is supportive, affirming, and deeply human.

Specialized Focus While I work with a diverse range of clients, I have focused on:

  • Men’s Issues: Navigating identity, purpose, and the "what now?" moments in life.
  • LGBTQ+ Community: Providing a safe, celebratory space to explore identity and lived experience.
  • Assertiveness Training: Helping you set boundaries and communicate your needs without guilt.

What you can expect from me

What to expect from your first session

The first time we meet is all about lowering the pressure. My primary goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, heard, and—most importantly—not judged.

We’ll start with a relaxed, open-ended conversation. While I’ll want to hear about what brought you to therapy and what’s making you feel 'stuck' right now, this isn't a clinical interrogation. Think of it as us beginning to map out the direction of your life.

By the end of our first 50 minutes, my goal is for you to walk away with:

  • A sense of relief from finally sharing your story.
  • A clearer understanding of how we’ll work together to build your assertiveness and direction.
  • A 'gut feeling' of whether my style feels like the right fit for your journey.

There’s no right or wrong way to show up; just come as you are, and we’ll find that rhythm together.
