Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Marcelle, the owner of Laurel Oaks Counseling & Therapy. I specialize in working with teens and adults who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, panic, and obsessive thought patterns. I take anxiety seriously because I’ve lived it myself — including years of both high-functioning anxiety and more debilitating periods — and I know how quietly exhausting it can be when it runs your life.

I bring 19 years of experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor. My approach is evidence-based, collaborative, and practical, integrating CBT, DBT, and ERP-informed strategies to help clients respond differently to anxiety rather than feeling controlled by it.

Most importantly, you’ll never feel judged here. You’re not “too much,” and you don’t have to have it all figured out to start.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is very laid back, conversational, but also guided by meeting goals and learning skills. I help clients make sense of anxiety and OCD by understanding what’s driving their thoughts and reactions, then learning practical skills to respond differently. Sessions are structured but flexible, integrating CBT, DBT, and ERP-informed strategies, and paced thoughtfully so change feels manageable rather than overwhelming.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we'll talk about what led you to seek therapy and begin identifying the best strategies to support your goals. I help clients make sense of anxiety and OCD by understanding what’s driving their thoughts and reactions, then building skills to respond differently. When helpful, we gently map out triggers and create a step-by-step plan to face them in manageable ways, rather than all at once. Sessions integrate CBT, DBT, and ERP-informed strategies and are paced thoughtfully, so change feels supportive and doable—not overwhelming.
