Great to meet you!

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor in the state of Nevada. I have been practicing for more than 30 years. I have experience working with youth and families, depression and anxiety, as well as in the addictions field. One of my specialties is treating children and adolescents for issues related to trauma and abuse, as well as emotional and behavioral disturbances. My modalities include play therapy and behavioral therapy with children, as well as cognitive behavioral approach for both young people and adults. I also specialize in treatment of addictions.

Experience in trauma, grief and loss, family conflict, behavior and emotional disturbances in children and adolescents, depression and anxiety, chronic pain, addictions issues, and parenting issues. Supervisor for both MFT and LADC Boards, as well as clinical director/consultant for an equine program and addictions treatment center.

My approach to therapy

Within the models of marriage and family therapy I have some bias toward Cognitive Behavior therapy, Solution Focused therapy, and Person-Centered approaches. I am trained in systemic family approaches, which allows me to work well with children and parents in hopes of achieving unity and peace within families. I also have extensive experience working with individuals and families dealing with addiction issues.

What you can expect from me

Our first session will be a warm welcome in a comfortable office setting or in the comfort of your home via video. We will explore your goals for initiating this journey and I will also gather some history to help me gain a full understanding of your background. We will take this at your pace, slowly getting to know each other and determining if we are a good fit.
