Great to meet you!

My name is Marcia S, I am of Caribbean descent. I am a licensed clinician with over 10 yrs. of psychotherapy experience.

My goal is to help you discover the best version of yourself. As a team, we will work together on achieving realistic goals so you can become the best version of yourself.

My approach to therapy

I believe that therapy is a collaborative and personalized journey toward growth, healing, and self-understanding. My approach is rooted in a compassionate, client-centered philosophy, emphasizing empathy, active listening, and respect for each individual's unique experiences. I integrate evidence-based techniques from modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness practices to tailor my interventions to your specific needs.

I work to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel comfortable exploring your thoughts and feelings. My style is supportive and empowering, encouraging clients to develop greater insight and resilience. I believe that change happens through understanding and acceptance, and I guide clients in identifying patterns, setting realistic goals, and developing practical strategies to navigate life's challenges.

I have particular expertise in working with trauma, anxiety, depression, stress management, and life transitions. Additionally, I enjoy supporting clients dealing with self-esteem issues, relationship concerns, and personal growth. Whether you're facing specific mental health concerns or seeking to enhance your overall well-being, I am committed to helping you achieve meaningful progress at your own pace.

What you can expect from me

During the initial session, we will discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, your background, and what you hope to achieve. I will listen carefully to understand your experiences and gather information to create a tailored treatment plan. This first session is also an opportunity for you to ask questions about the process and to get a sense of how we will work together. My goal is to make you feel comfortable and confident that therapy can be a positive, transformative experience.
