Great to meet you!

I am deaf, I've lived in many places from the East Coast to the West Coast. I use ASL as my primary language and I have many years of working in supported living and disability rights. As a professional counselor, I can offer therapies and approaches to a variety of issues.

My approach to therapy

I typically take a humanistic approach which to me means growth and strength oriented outlooks on life and challenges we face everyday. I use DBT, ACT, Play, Art, and Talk Therapies most of the time as these are evidence based and they work.

What you can expect from me

First sessions generally we talk about any questions you might have regarding my professional disclosure, clients rights and responsibilities, etc. I try to make this short so I can give the client as much time as they can to start telling me who they are, and what's up with them. I would participate during this time to help them see who I am before we go too far and they decide it's not a good fit. I find the first session can be difficult with language barriers so sometimes I will break the first session or the intake into 2 sessions to allow for a time accommodation if necessary. I am very flexible and try to be as accommodating as possible.
