Great to meet you!

I bring over 22 years of experience as a clinical social worker.

I have worked directly with clients of all ages, children through adolescents and adults, in a variety of settings.

I have worked with clients with a variety of presenting issues and dilemmas, including depression, anxiety and stress, anger management, grief and loss, marital and relationship discord, family and parenting difficulties, trauma and emotional abuse, and mental health disorders.

I have worked indirectly as a Clinical Supervisor over children's mental health programs which provided therapeutic and case management services to children who suffered displacement, separation, trauma neglect and abuse and accompanying behavioral and mental health issues.

I have worked as a Program Director of an outpatient substance abuse treatment program.

I have worked as a Program Supervisor over an adolescent respite and treatment program providing shelter, behavior modification, and individual and family counseling for troubled teens. Lately, I find myself working a lot more with couples and gaining a lot of satisfaction helping them to mend, heal, and resolve their relationship struggles and dilemmas.

My personal experience brings decades of experience, including living and working within a variety of cultures, and religious and ethnic communities, making me aware and sensitive to the nuances of individuals’ diversity and challenges.

My therapeutic approach is strength-based, using eclectic therapeutic techniques, providing a supportive counseling relationship, whereby you can explore and gain understanding and insights to drive your resolve, action plan, change, and growth towards that stronger, happier, functional, fulfilled you!

A bit about my approach to therapy

I love to connect with my clients. Every story is unique. Don't be afraid to tell yours. I want you to know that I believe that your particular struggle is valid and deserving of help, care and resolution.

I meet you where you are and work with you to help you get to that place of health you want to be. That is my goal as your therapist. My commitment is to you. My focus is on you and your challenges, goals and desires.

I use multiple therapy approaches that give you understanding and direction and skills to empower you in your journey for growth and change, happiness and fulfillment.

What you can expect from our first session

Our first session involves telling your story or whatever is on your mind. I have found that brings a great relief as well as hope. We are able to begin an understanding of the issues and gain a direction for work. As we continue, our sessions continue to unravel your story and your challenges. Our discussions really allow developing understanding and compassion, hope and motivation. Together we continue to work on developing perspectives, skills, and strategies to cope, manage, overcome and build strengths to help you achieve the growth change, functioning, happiness and fulfillment you want to experience.
