My approach to therapy is warm, down-to-earth, and nonjudgmental. With 18 years of clinical experience, I recognize that every individual has unique experiences, strengths, and needs. I prioritize building a trusting therapeutic relationship, meeting clients where they are, and creating a space where they feel comfortable without fear of judgment.
I take an individualized and collaborative approach to treatment, drawing from a variety of therapeutic modalities based on each client’s needs and goals. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help clients explore the connections between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, identify unhelpful thinking patterns, and develop healthier ways of responding to challenges. Through behavioral and behavior management strategies, we work on identifying behavioral patterns, setting achievable goals, developing coping skills, and reinforcing positive changes. Problem-solving therapy provides opportunities to break challenges into manageable steps and develop practical solutions.
When working with youth, I incorporate developmentally appropriate interventions, including play-based and creative activities, to help clients express emotions, communicate experiences, and build confidence. I also draw from emotion-focused and narrative approaches to help clients better understand and express their emotions, explore their personal experiences, and improve self-understanding. When appropriate, trauma-focused CBT provides a structured approach to helping children and adolescents understand and process traumatic experiences while developing skills to manage trauma-related thoughts, feelings, and responses.
My goal is to help clients feel heard, understood, and supported while empowering them to recognize their strengths, navigate challenges, and make meaningful progress at their own pace.
