Great to meet you!

I am Meg Hamilton LMFT and am the founder and lead counselor at Pathway Life Counseling. I help couples, families, and individuals, 18 yrs and older, discover unhealthy ways of communicating and coping with stress so they can replace them with healthier solutions.

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) after graduating from Amberton University in 2020. Post graduation I worked in Intensive Outpatient settings with Grace Counseling Center and The Meadows Dallas serving clients with addiction, anxiety, depression and other mental health issues.

I am also a wife and a mother of four children, and my personal life experiences include working through issues related to couples therapy, grief, depression, anxiety, infertility, trauma and parenting issues. I want to help you overcome similar struggles and facilitate positive change.

A bit about my approach to therapy

Regardless of what difficulties you or your family are facing, it is OK not to be OK. In fact, we can all benefit from seeing a counselor. In my sessions I listen first and validate what you are going through. Using the Family Systems and the Psychodynamic models I often help you explore your family of origin influences current thoughts and behaviors, addressing issues from anger and resentment to intimacy, communication skills, and more. I use tools from CBT to give you resources for you to try away from the office to enhance our time in sessions. As I am trained in EMDR and trauma informed therapy I will use these as needed in sessions to meet goals you decide on.

I also offer Telehealth which opens a compassionate virtual door to video for those who don’t live near my office or have work and school schedules that prevent you from attending counseling sessions in person.

What you can expect from our first session

I will give you tools, resources, and encouragement to take back the life you deserve and thrive in healthier relationships. I walk with couples, families, and individuals on their journeys toward exploring and resolving conflicts, getting unstuck, enhancing communication, and building deeper connections.
