My education includes Master of Clinical Social Work, and Master of Professional Studies (Creative Arts Therapy/Dance). I’ve earned additional certifications in Alcohol and Substance Abuse for therapists and Movement Analysis. Further training, interests, and expertise include integrative treatment for trauma, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, life transitions, emotional and self regulation, identity.
My approach to therapy is best described as collaborative, respectful, strength based, holistic and integrative. I strive to listen deeply and accurately to your personal experience, help identify sources of distress both internal an external. Together we develop a treatment plan that expands your efficacy and resilience in the ways that matter most to you. Expect a range of psychodynamic, insight, creative, mind/body, skill and strength based, motivational, mindfulness based interventions.
Clients feel safe, seen, respected and heard when working with me. Goals set are those which relate to the reason for seeking treatment i.e., improve self-esteem, motivation, anxiety, fears of rejection, overwhelm, relationship conflict. Clients can expect to learn skills, gain in understanding of self/other, gain in self-acceptance, learn how to improve communication, set boundaries, learn to better express needs and wants, and improve distress tolerance and response to same. .
