Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of experience in domestic violence, addiction, homelessness, severe mental illness, behavioral modification, individual and family therapy, relational conflicts, crisis intervention, advocacy, social policy, clinical supervision and program development.

I believe in the immense power of our thoughts and our incredible capacity as human beings to change them through awareness, intention and implementation. Together we will work to create the life you want to live despite the hardships you have overcame and any future struggles that may lay ahead.

I believe life’s hardships and tragedies have strength and the power to empower with self awareness and guidance through the pain.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is rooted in clinical expertise and a person-in-environment perspecitive, empahsizing the connection between a person’s mental health and their environment (relationships, community, culture, socioeconomic conditions, etc.)

I view those I’m priveledged to sit with within the full context of their lives. Instead of focusing solely on pathology, I highlight resilience, resources and coping skills that people already possess. Therapy is a partnership in which the client is the expert on their own lives. I am trained to draw from multiple treatment modalities based on the clients needs and work holisticaly and collaborativeloy with a client-centered approach to empower clients to make meaninful changes in their lives; improving coping skills, communication, emoptional regulation and relationships.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can feel like a big step-its completely normal to feel a little nervous and unsure about what to expect. The first session is really just a chance for us to get to know each other, talk about what’s been going on, and begin building a safe, comfortable space for you to explore and grow.
