Great to meet you!

Many people come to therapy not because they can clearly explain what’s wrong, but because they feel it—emotionally, physically, or in the patterns of their relationships—and don’t have the words for it yet.

I’m Margaret, a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 25 years of experience supporting adolescents, adults, families, and older adults through a wide range of emotional and life challenges. My work focuses on anxiety, trauma, depression, anger, ADHD-related struggles, emotional regulation difficulties, and complex life stressors that often build over time.

A significant part of my approach involves helping clients express experiences that feel difficult to put into words. Sometimes that means traditional conversation, and other times it means using creative and experiential methods to access emotions and memories that are harder to reach directly. My goal is to help you feel understood in a deeper way, even when words alone don’t fully capture what you’re going through.

My approach to therapy

My approach is depth-oriented, experiential, and grounded in both traditional and creative therapeutic methods. I draw from Person-Centered Therapy, Jungian-informed approaches, narrative work, solution-focused strategies, and expressive modalities such as sand tray therapy to support clients in understanding their inner emotional world.

I believe that healing often begins when people are able to safely explore not just what they are thinking, but what they are feeling beneath the surface. Together, we look at patterns in your emotions, relationships, and life experiences to better understand where current struggles may be coming from and how they continue to show up today.

Depending on your needs, therapy may involve traditional talk therapy, symbolic or experiential work, or a combination of both. The goal is always to help you build insight, emotional clarity, and a stronger sense of internal stability and self-understanding.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we’ll focus on what has brought you to therapy and what feels most important for you to understand or change. You do not need to have a clear explanation of everything you’re feeling. Many clients begin therapy with a sense of emotional heaviness, confusion, or feeling “stuck,” even if they cannot fully describe why.

Over time, clients often begin to notice a deeper understanding of their emotional patterns, improved ability to express feelings, and greater awareness of how past experiences may still be influencing present-day reactions. Many also experience increased emotional regulation, reduced internal tension, and a stronger sense of meaning and clarity in their lives.

My goal is for therapy to feel like a space where even the most complex or difficult experiences can be approached with curiosity, compassion, and understanding.

If you are looking for a therapist who can help you explore emotions that feel difficult to put into words, understand long-standing patterns, and move toward greater clarity and emotional grounding, I would be honored to work with you.
