Great to meet you!

Hi there, I'm Margaret!

I specialize in treating individuals who suffer from chronic, persistent depression or difficulty regulating emotions, and find themselves using substance abuse or other unhealthy behaviors to manage their symptoms.

My approach to therapy

I join with my clients to uncover what is maintaining unhealthy patterns and learn new skills to cope. I also work with clients to identify how developmental trauma from childhood influences their coping style and help them develop self-compassion as a part of healing. My foundation is in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which I believe is so valuable in offering goal-oriented treatment. I also use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, which I find to be especially useful with persistent depression.

What you can expect from me

Bottom line–the approach should fit the individual! Patience, compassion, and a sense of humor are my most valuable tools. Today is the day to start the journey toward healing.
