Great to meet you!

Parents,

Is your teen struggling with school stress, peer relationships, or anxiety, or something they cannot even express, but you know they need help. Maybe you are getting calls from a school teacher or counselor expressing concern about your teen. Teens often shut out the ones who most care about them and in turn, parents and families can be thrown into a cycle of conflict and strained relationships.

You don't have to go it alone. I help teens get to the root issues that cause them to feel overwhelmed or stuck in unhealthy behaviors. I've lived my 25 year social work career in high schools, and developed a passion for helping teens, their parents, and even grandparents, renew their connections and resolve conflicts.

I also work with adults, who are seeking support with issues of grief, relationship concerns, and anxiety.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I approach both teens and adults with respect, compassion, and straight talk, and show them tools to help them regain a sense of control in their lives. We will work together to identify what is causing your pain and frustration. I'll help you look at your thought patterns and behaviors that have kept you stuck. We will develop your toolkit to build your confidence in yourself. I'll support you in identifying and shaping the relationships in your life that can be supportive, as well as addressing those you want to leave behind.

What you can expect from our first session

You want therapy that makes sense, feels safe and actually makes a difference in your life. Our time together will be your time; to listen to yourself, to feel understood, and to use practical strategies to get past the fears and frustrations that are holding you back. This will be partnership, built on trust, and a commitment to you having a life free from old patterns and fears. You deserve to feel better, to live better.
