Great to meet you!

Hello and welcome! Taking the first step to begin therapy can be difficult, and I appreciate that you are willing to start this journey with me. I am a bilingual (English/Spanish) licensed professional counselor with an MS in counseling from Cairn University. I also have 30 years of experience as a Special Education teacher, where I helped students of all ages overcome adversity, trauma, and their own disabilities. Together we will uncover and address obstacles to healing and growth.

My approach to therapy

I employ a holistic approach to therapy, dealing with grief, anxiety, depression, codependency, and issues that may specifically affect women.

I use a mixture of approaches that includes CBT, DBT, and mindfulness-based modalities. My goal is to empower my clients to better meet their individual challenges by fostering growth and a better sense of self. I also provide Christian-based counseling for those seeking a spiritual component to their recovery.

What you can expect from me

I am dedicated to being an open-minded and sensitive listener. Together we'll uncover trauma, grief, and setbacks of any and all varieties. The ultimate goal is not to solve the client's problems; instead, we'll work together to build confidence, resilience, and an ability to thrive in the face of challenges and setbacks. - "You can't go back and change the beginning. But you can start where you are and change the ending."
