Belen Martinez, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist who earned her BSc from Cornell University and her Psy.D. (Doctor of Psychology) in Clinical Psychology from Loyola University Maryland. Previously, she worked at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center. Dr. Martinez has extensive experience providing psychotherapy in English and Spanish to adolescents and adults of all ages.

My approach to therapy

Dr. Martinez’ approach to therapy is collaborative, authentic, empathic, active and caring. Clinical areas of interests include depression, anxiety, maternal mental health (postpartum depression and anxiety), bipolar disorder, self-esteem issues, trauma and abuse, stress, life transitions, grief/loss, and relationship difficulties. Dr. Martinez has completed advanced training in Perinatal and Postpartum Mood Disorders and the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Intensive Training.
