Great to meet you!

My name is Maria Cecilia Dulay. I am a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). I began my nursing career as a psychiatric nurse in an inpatient hospital. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with various mental health conditions that include depression, anxiety, mood disorders, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and other mental and behavioral health issues, as well as substance abuse. Helping people with medical and emotional problems made me realize this was my passion. I truly found my niche in psychiatric-mental health nursing, and I’m passionate about helping others and making a difference in their lives. I then decided to continue my education and received my Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatric Mental Health from Walden University.

My approach is to work with you to develop treatment interventions that are uniquely tailored to you, depending on your presenting problem. I provide individualized psychiatric evaluation interviews, order appropriate diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications if indicated. I also offer brief psychotherapy within the context of medication management, and if more extensive psychotherapy is necessary, I will connect you to a psychotherapist. I believe in developing an individualized care plan that values client involvement, interprofessional collaboration, and evidence-based practice.

My approach to therapy

My approach to mental health treatment is holistic, compassionate, and patient-centered. I believe in combining evidence-based therapies, medication management when necessary, and lifestyle modifications to support overall well-being, ensuring each patient receives individualized care tailored to their unique needs.

What you can expect from me

At your mental health appointments, you can expect a safe, supportive, and confidential space to discuss your concerns. We will work together to develop a personalized treatment plan, which may include therapy, medication management, and lifestyle strategies to help you achieve your mental wellness goals.
