Clients can expect the first session to feel supportive, conversational, and judgment-free. Our initial session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another, discuss what brings you to therapy, and explore the goals or changes you hope to achieve. I understand that starting therapy can feel vulnerable, so I strive to create a warm, welcoming environment where clients feel comfortable, respected, and heard.
During this first session, we’ll begin exploring your current concerns, personal history, strengths, and any challenges you may be facing. We’ll also discuss what has or hasn’t been helpful for you in the past and begin identifying goals for our work together. My approach is collaborative, so I encourage open communication and want clients to feel like active participants in the therapeutic process.
By the end of the session, my hope is that clients leave feeling supported, understood, and more hopeful about the path forward.
