Maria Erickson

I am a non-judgmental, client centered therapist who is personally familiar with the challenges of single parenting, divorce, codependency, abuse, anxiety, and alcoholism. I have worked in middle/high schools in Pinellas County (28 yrs), and I am continuously working to learn new counseling strategies/ applications to help my clients overcome their challenges and develop new coping skills to face the challenges of life on every level. Life can get better as we age, if we know how to approach it.

There are times we find ourselves "stuck" and/or feeling like we are wading through quicksand to move forward. Our situations appear hopeless and overwhelming. They can be due to difficulties beyond our control, unresolved issues from our past that have resurfaced, or the consequences of wrong choices. I work along side you to learn new ways to make healthy life decisions so you are able to grow into a healthy whole person. Therapies and homework are combined to facilitate this growth.

As my client, you will always be in control of the direction you wish to take in therapy and the subjects you wish to discuss.in each session. My clients can expect to work hard with me to open old wounds as needed in order to move forward.You will always know you are in a judgement-free zone where you are supported and understood. We will focus on your goals, your process, and continuously re-evaluate your progress towards them so that we make adjustments as needed.
