
I have been in the practice of psychotherapy for over 40 years and love my profession. I earned my Masters degree as a clinical social worker from Barry University.
Early in my career I was fortunate to lead a National Cancer Institute study of cancer patients and their families for the School of Medicine of the University of Miami.
My psychotherapy work has been diverse as I working with moderate to severe psychiatric patients as well as with individuals and families dealing with addictions. After a few years in private practice working with adults and adolescents I saw the need to work with couples and have found it challenging as well as rewarding. I now see adolescents, adults couples and families in therapy.
On a more personal note I was born in Cuba but at an early age the family because of the communist regime and lived in Chile later coming to the US /Miami where I have lived and raised my family.
I love music, theater, movies, hiking & traveling
My goal with every client is to create a compassionate and self affirming space where you are heard and accepted. I will listen to what you are looking to accomplish and together will develop a plan to achieve the goal. We will discuss your prior experiences and identify which things slow or stop you and identify the best course of action to remove those blocks. I believe that when you make courageous choices you step out of the box that confines you.
