Great to meet you!

I have been in the practice of psychotherapy for over 40 years and love my profession. I earned my Masters degree as a clinical social worker from Barry University.

Early in my career I was fortunate to lead a National Cancer Institute study of cancer patients and their families for the School of Medicine of the University of Miami.

My psychotherapy work has been diverse as I working with moderate to severe psychiatric patients as well as with individuals and families dealing with addictions. After a few years in private practice working with adults and adolescents I saw the need to work with couples and have found it challenging as well as rewarding. I now see adolescents, adults couples and families in therapy.

On a more personal note I was born in Cuba but at an early age the family because of the communist regime and lived in Chile later coming to the US /Miami where I have lived and raised my family.

I love music, theater, movies, hiking & traveling

My approach to therapy

  • I envision a partnership between I the therapist and the individual or individuals seeking help and see the principal role of the therapist as a guide and facilitator.
  • I like to highlight the client's individual strengths and resources while envisioning a shared journey towards well-being while fostering trust and respect.

What you can expect from me

My goal with every client is to create a compassionate and self affirming space where you are heard and accepted. I will listen to what you are looking to accomplish and together will develop a plan to achieve the goal. We will discuss your prior experiences and identify which things slow or stop you and identify the best course of action to remove those blocks. I believe that when you make courageous choices you step out of the box that confines you.

Words To Couples .. Can you dare to engage in a romantic alliance where the strategy is in living and not needing? Can you and your spouse remain married while feeling honored, respected and committed to each other?

Words To Parents.. Can you imagine yourself offering your children the challenge to be the best they can be while you remain in emotional balance?

If any of these resonates with you Call Me
