Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 20 years experience in the field. I have worked in various settings such as community centers, schools, hospitals and private practice. I speak fluent Spanish and have vast experience with multicultural populations. I have a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is psychodynamic: exploring early relationships and the patterns that developed; and how those patterns affect you today. I also use CBT techniques, while the client-therapist relationship is central to improvement. The overarching theme of my work is holistic: mind, body and spirit, using a faith based approach for those who are seeking to grow in their spirituality.

What you can expect from me

The first session is focused on getting to know the client and gathering information on presenting issues and goals for therapy. It becomes a holding place for the client’s initial visit which may bring with it many emotions and anticipation.
