Great to meet you!

Life has a way of writing chapters we never expected. Some leave us carrying beauty, while others leave us carrying burdens, and many hold both at the same time. Sometimes we simply need a place to pause, make sense of those experiences, and reconnect with who we are beneath the pain, pressure, or expectations of life. It is a privilege to walk alongside others as we gently explore those chapters together, understanding the roots of your story and moving toward greater clarity, compassion, and confidence.

My professional journey began as I was getting my Ed.S degree at the University of South Carolina, where I worked in advocacy, supporting survivors of interpersonal violence. Then, I began serving as a school counselor for seven years. Those experiences deepened my passion for walking alongside people through life's most difficult moments and ultimately led me to private practice work, where I have the privilege of doing deeper, long-term therapy with adolescents, young adults, and adults.

My approach integrates person-centered care, evidence-base practices, and creative reflection to help clients better understand themselves, strengthen resilience, and create lasting change. I especially enjoy working with individuals experiencing anxiety, trauma, grief, self-esteem concerns, life transitions, and emotional overwhelm.

At Sacred Stories Counseling, every story is welcomed with compassion, and every step forward is honored. Wherever you find yourself today, I look forward to walking alongside you as you continue becoming more deeply rooted in who you are.

My approach to therapy

I view therapy as a collaborative process rather than something you have to figure out alone. My role is to come alongside you with compassion, curiosity, and evidence-based tools while honoring your unique experiences and strengths. I integrate CBT, IFS-informed techniques, mindfulness, and creative approaches to help you better understand patterns, process difficult emotions, and build practical skills that support lasting growth. My hope is that therapy becomes a place where you not only find relief but also develop a deeper understanding of yourself and move forward with greater clarity, connection, and courage.

What you can expect from me

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. I'll invite you to share what brings you to therapy, the experiences that have shaped your story, and what you hope life might look like moving forward. There's no pressure to have everything figured out or know exactly where to begin—we'll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Together, we'll discuss your goals, identify your strengths, and begin creating a treatment plan that reflects what matters most to you. My hope is that you'll leave the first session feeling heard, supported, and encouraged, with a clearer understanding of how we'll work together throughout your healing journey.
