Great to meet you!

I am a licensed clinical social worker with both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in clinical social work, and I have been practicing since 1998. Over the past several decades, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals and families across the lifespan, including children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. My career has taken me through community mental health centers, hospital settings, school systems, and private practice, giving me a broad understanding of the diverse challenges people face.

My treatment approach is flexible and collaborative. I draw from cognitive‐behavioral therapy, solution‐focused therapy, trauma‐informed care, motivational interviewing, and family‐systems work. I have supported clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, relationship concerns, chronic stress, and behavioral challenges. I also have extensive experience working with individuals from varied cultural, socioeconomic, and family backgrounds, and I strive to create a space where every person feels seen, respected, and understood.

What guides my work is a deep belief in people’s resilience. I see therapy as a partnership—one where we explore your strengths, clarify your goals, and build practical tools that support healing and growth. I look forward to walking alongside you as you move toward greater well‐being.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that meaningful change happens when clients feel safe, respected, and genuinely heard. I work from a client‐centered perspective, which means I tailor each session to the individual rather than expecting clients to fit into a single model. I see therapy as a collaborative process where we explore challenges together, identify strengths, and build practical strategies that support long‐term well‐being.

I draw from several evidence‐based modalities to meet the diverse needs of the people I serve. Cognitive‐behavioral techniques help clients understand how thoughts influence emotions and behaviors, while mindfulness‐based practices support grounding and emotional regulation. I also incorporate trauma‐responsive approaches that prioritize safety, empowerment, and choice, recognizing that past experiences often shape present patterns. For clients navigating relationship or family dynamics, I integrate systems‐based and attachment‐informed methods to strengthen communication and connection.

Throughout the therapeutic process, I emphasize compassion, curiosity, and cultural humility. I strive to create an environment where clients can explore difficult emotions without judgment and develop tools that feel realistic and sustainable in their daily lives. My goal is to help each person build insight, reclaim their strengths, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

What you can expect from me

In our first session together, clients can expect a warm, welcoming space where the focus is on getting to know you—not just your challenges, but your strengths, values, and hopes for therapy. I begin by inviting you to share what brought you in and what you’d like to work toward. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out; many people come in unsure of where to start, and that’s completely okay.

We’ll talk through your history at a pace that feels comfortable, including any past experiences with therapy, major life events, and current stressors. I’ll also explain my therapeutic approach, answer any questions you may have, and collaborate with you to identify initial goals. This session is as much about you getting a sense of me as it is about me understanding you—feeling safe and supported is essential to the work we’ll do together.

By the end of our first meeting, you can expect to have a clearer sense of what therapy will look like, what you can expect from me, and how we’ll move forward. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, respected, and hopeful about the path ahead.
