Great to meet you!

Hello and welcome! I have over two decades of experience in education and guidance counseling ranging from early childhood to secondary. I have a Master's of Science in Counseling from the University of Houston-Clear Lake and a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Houston-Downtown. I am experienced in providing therapeutic methods that are successfully responsive to trauma, grief, and conflict resolution in coparenting matters. I have been trained by various renowned experts in the mental health field to provide EMDR, Collaborative Practices, Trauma and Grief services.

My approach to therapy

It is important that my clients feel comfortable, validated, connected, and that they set a purpose for therapy. I believe in a client-centered approach in which clients can feel supported as they explore different perspectives and change in a personal circumstance. Also, in therapy we may hear "diagnosis" mentioned in therapy, so it may prompt the idea of a necessary "cure". However, I believe that a diagnosis can be used to assist in skill building and guiding the client through their journey as they practice resilience, adaptation, acceptance, and confidence in order to manage any recognized impediments of a “diagnosis.”

What you can expect from me

In our initial meeting I aim to assist in setting goals that are a priority and likely achievable to my clients. Because I believe we can all achieve peace of mind, I am invested in assisting my client to discover their personal resilience and navigate past heavy obstacles that are holding them back. It is ideal that in the first session a client is willing to commit and trust that they are capable of self-healing through an appropriate therapeutic approach. However, a client should also understand that there is no ideal timeframe on favorable changes in life.
