Great to meet you!

I’m Maria Miller, LCPC, CEAP, a bilingual and bicultural counselor with over 15 years of experience supporting individuals through life’s challenges and transitions. My work is grounded in a client-centered, integrative approach that honors each person’s unique background, values, and goals. I draw from evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness, tailoring our work to what feels most helpful for you. I earned my BA in Human Development from Boston College and my MA in Counseling Psychology from Bowie State University.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and goal-oriented, with an emphasis on creating a safe, trauma-informed space where your experiences and cultural context are respected. We’ll talk about your goals, answer any questions you have about the process, and begin identifying practical, evidence-based tools and a path forward that feels supportive, realistic, and aligned with your values.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we’ll focus on helping you feel comfortable, heard, and understood. I’ll invite you to share what brought you to therapy, what’s been feeling most pressing, and what you hope to get out of our work together. We’ll talk about your goals, answer any questions you have about the process, and begin identifying a path forward that feels supportive and realistic for you.
