Great to meet you!

Welcome! I've spent over 18 years working in mental and behavioral health, and more than 6 years as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. What keeps me passionate about this work is my curiosity, creativity, and lifelong commitment to understanding people. I love walking alongside clients as they uncover their strengths, reconnect with themselves, and find ways to life with more purpose and peace.

Throughout my own journey, surrounding myself with creativity through painting, crafts, music and writing, has kept me open to new changes and opportunities that come my way.

My focus is on adult individuals who experience challenges in the areas of self-worth, self-esteem and relationships with others- whether that's with family, friends, romantic, acquaintances, bosses, or co-workers. I also work with clients who feel creatively blocked and want to rediscover motivation and empowerment to reach their goals.

I also assist individuals coping with depression (major depression, seasonal affective, premenstrual dysphoric, melancholic, and walking depressions), anxiety (OCD, separation, avoidance, social, panic and generalized anxiety), and chronic stress (burnout, compassion fatigue, low creativity and mental and physical fog). Together we'll explore ways to bring balance, clarity, and energy back into your life.

Note: I am only working with adults for individual therapy. I am pausing on sessions with children, families and couples at this time.

My approach to therapy

I tailor my approach to fit your goals and needs. My work integrates psychodynamic and modern evidence-based approaches such as CBT, solution-focused, strength-based, narrative, interpersonal, motivational interviewing, mindfulness and existential therapy.

For those who do not relate to the dominant culture, I offer culturally sensitive therapy that focuses that honors your background, values, and belief system related to race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, and identity.

You can expect a calm, friendly, and open environment where you'll be encouraged to explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. I use humor when appropriate-it can be a powerful part of healing and connection. My goal is to provide space for reflection, creativity, and growth so that you can reconnect with your true self.

What you can expect from me

In our first appointment, I will introduce myself and take time to learn about what's bringing you to therapy now. We'll explore your current lifestyle, childhood experiences, expectations for therapy, and the changes you'd like to make in your life.

Together, we'll identify goals that feel meaningful and achievable. I'll offer insights, ask thoughtful questions, and make suggestions when helpful-all while checking in to ensure the process aligns with what matters most to you.

You can expect a safe, respectful, and collaborative environment where you'll feel understood, supported, and empowered to make progress at your own pace. My hope is that therapy becomes a creative space for you to grow, heal, and reconnect with who you truly are.
