Great to meet you!

Welcome! I have been a psychotherapist for over 30 years, and I love my career. I received my Masters in Social Work degree from UCLA in 1991 and specialize in healing trauma. I offer the following interventions: Psychodynamic Therapy, Trauma Resiliency Model, Cognitive Behavioral skills, and EMDR. I also provide services in Spanish.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My work is guided by the principle of CONNECTION. I help you explore your early life experiences. How were you cared for? How were you nurtured? Did you feel safe? Heard? Understood? I provide a caring and safe space as you share your story, at your own pace. I help you understand how early experiences have impacted how you see yourself, how you relate to others, and how you respond to ups and downs of daily life.

What you can expect from our first session

My goal is to help you become an expert in understanding yourself and healing yourself. I will teach you how stress impacts your brain and your body. Together, we identify the interventions that are best for you. I will teach you skills to help you learn how to be in charge of your breath, your thoughts, and your behaviors. I provide you with handouts, videos, podcasts, and books to help reinforce the concepts that I teach you.
