Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Mariah, a licensed therapist with a deep passion for helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and find healing and direction. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Texas and my Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Houston.

My career began in treatment centers, where I supported individuals on their journeys through recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. From there, I transitioned into a school setting, working closely with students, families, and educators to provide mental health services across a wide range of concerns—from anxiety and depression to trauma and behavioral challenges.

I’m trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and am currently working toward full certification. My therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to meet your unique needs, whether you're seeking support for past trauma, current stressors, or personal growth.

Born and raised in Austin, I love being outdoors and taking part in all the great events and experiences this city has to offer. I like to bring a sense of curiosity and connection into my work, creating a safe, grounded space where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered.

My approach to therapy

I believe that therapy should be a safe, supportive space where you feel truly heard—without judgment, pressure, or expectation. My goal is to create an environment where you can be your authentic self and talk openly about whatever is on your mind.

Our work together will focus on the goals that matter most to you. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach; instead, I tailor each session to your unique needs and move at a pace that feels right for you. Whether you're navigating a specific challenge or just need space to process, I’ll meet you where you are with compassion and respect.

I value open, honest conversations about what’s working in therapy and what’s not. Your feedback is not only welcome—it’s essential. I want you to feel empowered in this process, and I’m here to collaborate with you every step of the way.

For clients who are interested, I also offer Christian counseling. I'm happy to incorporate faith into our work together in a way that feels meaningful and comfortable for you. Whether you'd like to explore spiritual questions or draw on your faith for strength, I'm here to meet you where you are.

What you can expect from me

My hope is that each client leaves our time together with what they need—whether that’s clarity and direction, tools to cope with difficult emotions, a deeper understanding of themselves or a situation, or simply the experience of feeling heard and supported.

Sometimes therapy brings insight and growth; other times, it offers comfort and relief in a moment of overwhelm. Whatever your path looks like, I want our work to feel meaningful and relevant to you.

Ultimately, I hope you walk away from therapy with a sense of healing, renewed strength, and hope for the future.
