Mariam Ramy

Hello and thanks for checking out my profile! My name is Mariam, and I'm excited to get to know you. I received my BA in Psychology from St. Edward's in Austin, TX and my MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling form UTSA in San Antonio and graduated in 2022. I have been working as a counselor since early 2023, but I also have experience in diagnostic testing for individuals with Alzheimer's/Dementia, and while I was in school I worked at a residential treatment facility for people with OCD and severe social anxiety.

Therapy is your time to address what you hope to work on. I will meet you where you're at, and challenge you when it feels right. I tend to be solution focused, but can also be a person to vent to judgement free. While my sessions tend to feel conversational, I always make sure to provide a takaway, verbally and sometime with some info sheets or worksheets when appropriate.

Our first session may feel a bit like an interview as I try to get the big picture of who you are and what's going on. We'll explore your past, relationship dynamics, mental and medical history, education/employment, and hopes for the future. This helps me create a good treatment plan for you as we move forward. I don't expect you to feel 100% comfortable sharing your deepest, darkest secrets right away either, therapy can be scary to approach and I'm happy to meet you where you're at!
