Great to meet you!

I am a double board-certified psychiatrist in Adult Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, providing comprehensive psychiatric care for adults, adolescents, and children. I believe that every individual has a unique story, and that effective treatment begins with taking the time to understand each person's experiences, challenges, strengths, goals, values, and preferences. Together, we develop an individualized treatment plan that reflects the best available evidence while also respecting each patient's and family's values, goals, and preferences. When appropriate, I also collaborate with primary care physicians, pediatricians, therapists, psychologists, and other members of a patient's healthcare team to provide coordinated, comprehensive care. I believe that mental and physical health are closely interconnected, and that understanding the whole person is essential to providing meaningful and effective psychiatric care.

My approach to therapy

I believe that the best psychiatric care is built on a warm, collaborative, and patient-centered partnership. I work closely with each patient and, when appropriate, with parents or caregivers to create thoughtful, individualized treatment plans rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach. Trust, open communication, mutual respect, and a strong therapeutic relationship are central to my practice. I integrate evidence-based medication management with psychotherapy during our appointments, helping patients better understand their symptoms, explore appropriate treatment options, and make informed decisions together. I believe that education is an essential part of treatment. I want patients and families to understand not only what I recommend, but also why I recommend it, so they can feel confident, informed, and actively engaged in their care.

What you can expect from me

Our first appointment is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and develop a thorough understanding of what brings you to treatment. We will discuss your current concerns, medical and psychiatric history, life experiences, strengths, goals, and any questions you may have. My goal is to create a comfortable and supportive environment where you feel heard, understood, and respected. Together, we will discuss possible diagnoses, review appropriate treatment options, and develop an individualized plan that reflects your needs and preferences. I encourage patients and families to ask questions throughout the visit, as I believe that understanding your diagnosis and treatment options is an important part of making informed decisions together. I want every patient and family to leave the first visit with a clear understanding of the next steps and confidence in the path forward.
