Great to meet you!

You may be the person everyone depends on while quietly wondering how much longer you can keep carrying everything yourself. Anxiety can leave you constantly anticipating what might go wrong, substance use may have become a way to cope with emotions or stress, or family responsibilities and relationships may be taking more from you than you have left to give. For women, changes related to motherhood, identity, relationships, or career can make it even harder to recognize your own needs. I provide virtual individual, family, and couples therapy in Louisiana, with a focus on anxiety, substance use and addiction, family issues, maternal mental health, and women’s issues. I also support clients navigating career concerns when work and life pressures contribute to feeling overwhelmed or uncertain. With 37 years of experience, I bring a warm, affirming, and solution oriented perspective to therapy. My goal is to help you feel understood while identifying changes that can make life feel more manageable and meaningful.

My approach to therapy

Therapy does not always need to spend months analyzing a problem before we can begin working toward something better. My approach is solution focused, which means we’ll take time to understand what is happening while also identifying your strengths, resources, and realistic opportunities for change. Anxiety, substance use, family difficulties, maternal mental health concerns, and women’s issues can influence one another, especially when relationships, responsibilities, or career pressures leave little room for your own wellbeing. Rather than treating each concern as a separate problem, we’ll look at how they interact and determine where change could have the greatest impact. I may use Solution Focused Brief Therapy to help clarify what you want to be different and identify achievable steps toward it, along with Motivational Interviewing to explore uncertainty and strengthen your own reasons for making changes. Whether we are working individually, as a couple, or with a family, our sessions will remain collaborative and centered on goals that matter to you.

What you can expect from me

You can come to our first session knowing what you want to change, or simply knowing that something isn’t working anymore. We’ll begin by talking about what brought you to therapy, what feels most important right now, and what you hope will be different as a result of our work together. From there, we’ll develop goals collaboratively and identify practical steps that build on your existing strengths. You can expect me to be warm, affirming, and focused on helping you move toward solutions without overlooking the experiences that brought you here. Progress may mean managing anxiety more effectively, changing your relationship with substances, communicating differently within your family or relationship, feeling more supported through maternal mental health challenges, navigating career decisions with greater clarity, or making more space for your own needs. We’ll continue adjusting our goals as you grow so therapy remains relevant to where you are and where you want to go. When you’re ready, you can use Headway to review your insurance information and schedule a session.
