Great to meet you!

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Specializing in Anxiety, Depression, and ADHD

I’m Marie-Lourdes Jean-Francois, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a focus on helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, and ADHD. My approach centers on understanding the unique challenges each person faces and tailoring treatment to meet their specific needs. I utilize evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI), to provide a holistic and compassionate treatment experience.

I believe in a collaborative approach, working alongside you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and develop practical tools to manage and improve your mental health. My style is warm, empathetic, and nonjudgmental, creating a space where you can feel comfortable discussing your struggles and working toward meaningful change. Whether you’re looking to better manage your anxiety, address symptoms of depression, or work through ADHD challenges, I am here to guide you toward a path of healing and growth.

With a comprehensive understanding of both the biological and psychological aspects of mental health, I combine therapy with appropriate pharmacological interventions when necessary, offering a well-rounded approach to your care. My goal is to empower you to make informed decisions about your mental health and provide you with the tools to thrive.

I’m here to help you feel heard, understood, and supported as you take steps toward achieving your mental health goals. I look forward to working with you!

My approach to therapy

I listen to my clients, motivate and empower them, using a non-judgmental and realistic approach.

What you can expect from me

Clients who work with me can expect to leave each session with a deeper understanding of themselves and their mental health. Together, we’ll explore the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that may be contributing to anxiety, depression, or ADHD symptoms, allowing you to gain greater self-awareness and clarity about your challenges. As we work together, I’ll help you develop practical, evidence-based tools to address these issues, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques to challenge negative thought patterns and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to explore your motivations for change and resolve any ambivalence you may have about making progress.

In addition to these therapeutic strategies, you’ll also learn effective coping skills to better manage stress and regulate your emotions. My goal is to empower you to approach difficult situations with a sense of control and confidence, helping you navigate the ups and downs of life more effectively. Whether it’s developing healthier ways of thinking, creating a plan to manage ADHD symptoms, or reducing the impact of anxiety or depression, you’ll leave each session feeling more equipped to take charge of your mental health.

Above all, clients can expect a compassionate and collaborative therapeutic relationship. I’m committed to providing a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and valued. Together, we’ll work toward your goals and ensure you feel confident in your ability to manage and improve your mental health over time.
