
Mariely Hernandez, Ph.D. is a licensed Clinical Psychologist in private practice in New York City. She earned her undergraduate degree Neuroscience & Behavior at Columbia University, and a master's degree in General Psychology from Teachers College. Dr. Hernandez remained in New York to pursue her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The City College of New York/CUNY Graduate Center. Finally, Dr. Hernandez recently completed a postdoctoral research fellowship in Substance Use Disorders at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC).
In her clinical work, Dr. Hernandez integrates practical behavioral strategies, skill building & psychoeducation informed by her extensive knowledge of the research literature, with insight-oriented therapy, based on the dynamic needs of her clients. Dr. Hernandez provides ADHD-affirming treatment that aims to empower clients to recognize and celebrate their strengths, while also helping them troubleshoot solutions to common frustrations and reduce the frequency of these negative interactions/situations to lead more fulfilling lives. Committed to diversity and inclusion in clinical research, she advocates for addressing racial health inequities in ADHD diagnosis and treatment.
