Great to meet you!

I hold a doctoral degree from a progressive Jesuit school as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Prior, I spent over 10 years in one-on-one home healthcare, studied psychology before nursing, and obtained an EMT certification, with a side interest in Fire and Rescue EMS.

In the past, I considered everything from becoming a veterinarian, an acupuncturist, a wildlife biologist, a gypsy with a fishing boat, a journalist, an underwater welder, an astronomer, an anthropologist, and yes, going to medical school. The nursing field, however, is beautifully versatile, and ended up being on point and on time. I'd like to think I weave into my perspective and practice, threads of all of those other fields.

Exploring the internal world is just an integral part of my life. By now, I'm cozy with cross-cultural/philosophical and belief perspectives surrounding existence, growth, difficult symptoms, and medicines. I've worked with myself - no doubt, but personally and professionally, with a lot of other people for whom it's all been front and center.

My approach to therapy

You know you, and this kind of medicine is inherently relationship and collaboration.

I think critically and analytically about your medical picture, and have been told that I both explain and question what may have not been by others.

We can explore diagnoses, discuss the value of specific medications you may already be on, consider removing some of them, switching, or adding others, or just keep building on what's working.

I aim for precision using psychiatric medications, but am also very integrative-medicine-friendly.

I go where you want to go, and are ready to go. From the philosophically and existentially broad, to the concretely targeted and focused, we can consider as much or as little as you like.

No topic, or approach to discussing your experience, how you see it, or treatment modalities of interest, is too out there for me...

What you can expect from me

First sessions are typically the longest. First and foremost, you should have the floor, but I'll also answer any questions, explain anything you'd like to know more about, and try to collect the pretty critical foundational information.

We'll try to get history - as much as you're able, of what you're feeling and experiencing, treatment and medications used, as well as that of any other physical medical conditions. We'll spend time on the present and what you've come for, what you would like, and what you would not like, as things move forward.

Then, we'll weigh the picture presented, and make a plan we like.
