Great to meet you!

I have been trained in expressive arts therapy and is a certified gestalt therapist. I utilizes the arts according to each person’s abilities to imagine and develop body awareness. My eclectic approach suits people who seek to find themselves in mental health. As a blind Japanese immigrant, I work especially well with differently-abled people and Pan Asians.

My approach to therapy

My intake is very informal and designed to get to know the person where they are. I encourage everyone to be imaginative through things like drawing, movement, words, and voice. I believe in finding oneself bit by bit through the development of body awareness and artwork. I listen to each clinent very closely and accepting who they are.

What you can expect from me

In my sessions, I employ gestalt therapy techniques like chair work as well as guided imagery, utilizing expressive arts with movement/music/visual art/poetry and/or drama. In general, I am not aiming to hand-out quick fix with my therapy sessions. Instead, I lead them to realizations or self-guidance to help each person to step forward in his/her life.
