Great to meet you!

My name is Marilee Melendez and I have been practicing for almost 5 years. I received my bachelors in Psychology from Texas Tech University and my masters in Counseling from University of Texas Permian Basin. As a first generation Mexican-American I deeply connect with how our cultural backgrounds affect our lives. I provide therapy in both Spanish and English. I have experience with trauma, immigration documentation, LGBTQ+, couples, children, adolescent, and adults.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy should be supportive, collaborative, and personalized to your unique needs. My approach considers how your culture, upbringing, personal history, trauma, relationships, and personality have shaped who you are and how you experience the world. I strive to create a welcoming, judgment-free space where you feel heard and understood. Together, we will identify meaningful goals, develop practical coping skills, strengthen your relationships, and work toward lasting personal growth.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, I will take time to get to know you and understand your current situation, concerns, personal history, and goals for therapy. I will also learn about your personality, strengths, preferences, and what helps you feel most comfortable and supported.

Together, we will create a personalized treatment plan that balances what you want from therapy with my professional recommendations about what may also benefit you. This is a collaborative process, and your feedback will remain an important part of shaping our work together.
