Great to meet you!

I specialize in relationship issues---whether improving connections with others or deepening the one you have with yourself. My first career was as a social worker for 14 years, helping prevent child abuse & neglect. I loved my work but eventually my passion to help create healthy relationships lead me back to grad school.

I earned my MA in counseling & began my second career as an LMFT. I've had the privilege of providing therapy & parenting classes in high schools, community mental health centers, a prison, & now private practice. I've enjoyed working with many different cultures while living in the Middle East, Hawaii, Oregon & now California.

My approach to therapy

My approach is supportive & empathetic. My overarching goal is for you to feel safe, understood, and respected. I view my role as a guide and you as the expert on yourself. I don't believe in the one-size-fits-all approach. My therapy is tailored to your specific needs. Together, we’ll work on building new skills, developing insight, and creating solutions to your specific difficulties.

I blend practical tools (CBT) with deeper work (psychodynamic/EFT) that explores how early experiences shape your current relationships and helps you build safe connections. With this approach, you gain increased self-awareness to ensure lasting changes and simultaneously relieve present distress with skills learned in real-time.

What you can expect from me

In your first session we'll discuss what brings you in, your current concerns, and what you'd like to get out of therapy. We'll create a plan that will help you start moving forward right away toward the solutions you're looking for. You'll leave your first session with practical tools to use immediately.
