My approach to mental health care is integrative and whole-person, with the understanding that mental health is influenced by more than symptoms alone.
Medication can be an important part of treatment, but effective psychiatric care also means understanding the person behind the diagnosis. Alongside medication management, we may explore factors such as sleep, nutrition, stress, movement, relationships, daily routines, and life circumstances that may be affecting your mental and emotional well-being.
When clinically appropriate, I incorporate brief evidence-informed interventions and psychoeducation into psychiatric visits. This may include helping you recognize the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors; practicing breathing or grounding techniques; challenging unhelpful thought patterns; developing practical coping strategies; and strengthening motivation for meaningful change.
My role is not simply to prescribe medication. It is to listen carefully, understand the bigger picture, and work collaboratively with you to develop a treatment plan that fits your needs and goals. I want you to feel heard, respected, informed, and actively involved in your care.
The goal is not simply to get through the day. It is to help you move toward greater stability, clarity, and a renewed sense of yourself.
