I am a licensed mental health counselor, with a focus on addiction and substance use. In 2018, I graduated from Pace University with my Masters of Science in Mental Health Counseling. Within the last several years, I have worked in a hospital setting, helping treat psychiatric decompensation along with drug or alcohol relapse. Having both the experience of inpatient and outpatient settings, I have gained a thorough understanding for the spectrum which mental health illnesses are demonstrated.
I'm a firm believer that some of the best treatment is resulted from a strong therapeutic relationship. As a therapist, I aim to create a safe, non-judgmental, and genuine environment during sessions. Implementing trauma-informed care has allowed many clients to not only build trust through our rapport but also feel empowered. I am trained in medication assisted treatment (MAT), able to provide psycho-education for someone who looks for added support and relapse prevention planning.
Clients can expect the initial session to cover introductions, addressing the reason for seeking therapy, and a review of treatment history/medication management. I work collaboratively with my client's to generate a personalized treatment plan to address prevalent symptoms. Based on individual needs, I may provide appropriate assessments and/or homework as it relates to the established goals.
