Great to meet you!

Hi! My name is Marisa, I am an LMHC located in New York. I received my Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Adelphi University and have been working in private practice since 2024. I believe that therapy isn’t one size fits all, so I do my best to meet clients where they are at and gear treatment to the clients specific needs.

My approach to therapy

My top priority is to create a space where you can show up as your authentic self and expect to be met with the same from me. The way I approach therapy is by being direct and honest, while also maintaining compassion and understanding. I am here to challenge you and help you create new patterns that align with who you want to be, not who you have been. I typically work with clients going through life transitions, are struggling with their relationships, OCD and anxiety related disorders, and those who are looking to become versions of themselves that align with their values and goals.

What you can expect from me

My top priority is to create a trusting and strong therapeutic relationship with my clients. Sessions with me will focus on gathering information about who you are and your experiences, discussing goals and what you are looking for out of therapy and working collaboratively to get you where you want to be. You can expect to be met with warmth, laughter, compassion, and care. You are not just another client to me, it is important that you feel supported and comfortable when working with me.
