Great to meet you!

Hello there!

My name is Marisa and I am a licensed mental health counselor with over 6 years of experience providing mental health services to individuals from widely diverse backgrounds, with varying symptoms and diagnoses. Throughout the past couple of years, I have been predominately working with women (adults and teens) who experience anxiety, trauma/PTSD, mood disorders, and interpersonal and intrapersonal challenges. While many of the clients I support have experienced trauma, particularly in some form of abuse, I am equipped to work with clients with a wide range of additional concerns, as well.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is integrative and client-centered, tailored to meet each individual’s unique needs and goals. I believe in creating a collaborative space where clients feel empowered to take an active role in their own healing process. I draw from a range of evidence-based modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed approaches to support meaningful and lasting change. Central to my work is building a strong, authentic therapeutic relationship. I am real, honest, humble, and nonjudgmental so clients feel safe, understood, and respected. I also value the role of humor and laughter in therapy, using it thoughtfully to foster connection, ease, and resilience throughout the healing journey!

What you can expect from me

In your first session, you can expect a relaxed, welcoming environment with no pressure—just a chance for us to get to know each other at a comfortable pace. I like to keep things light at the start, recognizing that we’re simply two human beings meeting for the first time, and building trust takes time. Together, we’ll begin breaking the ice, exploring what brings you in, and discussing your goals for therapy. From there, we’ll collaborate to create a personalized treatment plan that feels right for you. My aim is to provide a cozy, warm, inviting and supportive space where you can feel at ease being yourself from day one.
