Great to meet you!

Hello, I'm Marisol Shelton, I am honored to be your partner on this journey toward mental wellness. My path to becoming a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner was driven by a deep-seated belief in compassionate, personalized care. I earned my master's degree in nursing, and since then, I have dedicated my career to supporting individuals as they navigate the complexities of their mental health.

My professional experience is rooted in a comprehensive approach to psychiatric care, with a special focus on medication management. I have extensive experience in treating a wide range of conditions, including anxiety disorders, depression, PTSD, ADHD, and bipolar disorder.

I believe that effective treatment starts with an authentic and trusting relationship. My goal is to create a safe space where you can share your story without judgment. By truly listening and understanding your unique situation, we can work together to develop a care plan that aligns with your personal goals and values. I look forward to meeting you and helping you build a brighter, more balanced future.

My approach to therapy

My goal is to provide a caring and comprehensive approach to mental health that is rooted in partnership. My philosophy can be summarized in three key principles:

  1. It All Begins with You. I believe that you are the most important member of your care team. I don't just treat symptoms; I take the time to listen to your story, understand your values, and learn about your unique life experiences. Your treatment plan will be a collaborative effort, and our work together will be guided by what you feel is best for you.
  2. Specialization in Medication Management. I specialize in psychiatric medication management and understand that finding the right balance is a delicate process. I use evidence-based practices to carefully evaluate your needs, discuss all potential options, and monitor your progress closely. My focus is always on your safety and comfort as we work toward achieving your desired outcomes.
  3. Holistic and Compassionate. While medication can be a powerful tool, I believe in a holistic view of well-being. We will consider the full picture of your health, including your lifestyle, relationships, and personal goals. My practice is designed to be a safe, compassionate space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment, and where you'll receive the support you need to thrive.

What you can expect from me

My practice is built on a foundation of empathy, trust, and collaboration. When you walk out of a session, my goal is for you to feel a sense of clarity and empowerment, equipped with a personalized path forward.

You can expect to:

  • Feel Truly Heard: Our sessions are a safe, non-judgmental space where your voice is the most important one. You'll have the opportunity to speak openly and honestly, and you can expect to be met with kindness and respect.
  • Gain Clarity and Insight: We will work together to help you better understand your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. The insights you gain in our sessions can help you feel more in control of your life.
  • Develop a Plan for Your Future: Whether you're seeking medication management or a comprehensive wellness strategy, we will create a clear, personalized plan together. You'll leave each session with a renewed sense of purpose and a clear understanding of the next steps on your journey.

Ultimately, I want you to leave each session feeling more hopeful, more confident, and more connected to your own path toward wellness!
