Dr. Marisol Valencia-Payne

I have dedicated myself to helping others through fostering genuine relationships and support. I have over fifteen years of experience and have received a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology, a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology, and a Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology. I completed a 2-year post-doctorate residency in neuropsychology and psychotherapy.

I specialize in working with substance abuse concerns, trauma, couples, Hispanic/Latinos, and neuropsych/psych assessments.

Each individual has their own unique story and experiences and therefore deserving of an individualized approach to therapy. The therapeutic relationship should foster one's personal journey to self exploration and growth. My approach is often described as supportive, warm, empowering, challenging (when you need it), and humorous.

My background is in psychodynamic and psychoanalytic therapies; I have also trained in systems, CBT, humanistic approaches; I utilize an integrated approach.

I usually start out by getting to know you and we can take it at your own pace. This can include goals for therapy, areas to explore, desired outcomes, etc. We will work together! I aim to provide a safe and welcoming space where trust is built to foster a genuine relationship. It is important to me and to the therapeutic alliance that we have open communication and a sense of security.
