Great to meet you!

Welcome! I’m Marissa Burke, an LCSW in Connecticut with extensive experience supporting individuals through crisis, trauma, & high-stress life transitions. I earned my bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Vermont and completed my Master’s in Social Work at Virginia Commonwealth University. My clinical background spans intensive in-home counseling for youth and teens, school social work, inpatient psychiatric units for both children and adults, and mobile crisis intervention in the community and emergency departments.

My approach to therapy

Much of my career has been dedicated to crisis work—assessing and supporting individuals experiencing severe emotional distress, suicidality, trauma, & acute mental health challenges. I’ve worked closely alongside law enforcement as a mobile crisis clinician, responding to complex situations involving safety concerns and overwhelming stress.

What you can expect from me

I strive to create a space where you can speak openly, without needing to explain the world you work in. Outside of sessions, you’ll usually find me at the gym, or swimming. If you’re ready for support that truly understands the demands of your work & helps you reclaim your personal life, I’d be honored to help. Call or go to my website to book a consult!
