Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Marissa! I’m a therapist who believes you deserve a space where you can show up exactly as you are. My style is warm, genuine, collaborative, and pretty down to earth. I use humor when it fits, ask thoughtful questions, and will gently challenge you when I think it could help.

I work with children, teens, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, suicidal ideation, relationship concerns, identity, neurodivergence, emotional and behavioral concerns, and major life transitions. I especially enjoy working with people who are used to being the strong one, think deeply about everything, feel overwhelmed by what they are carrying, or understand themselves intellectually but still feel stuck.

My approach to therapy

My approach is trauma-informed, strengths-based, and individualized to the person in front of me. I draw from CBT, DBT, parts work and IFS-informed interventions, play therapy, expressive and creative approaches, and experiential strategies.

With children and teens, I believe behavior is communication. Rather than focusing only on stopping a behavior, I want to understand what is underneath it and help young people build emotional awareness, coping skills, confidence, and healthier ways of connecting with others.

I also have experience supporting clients with higher-acuity and complex mental health needs. Safety is important, but so is making sure you still feel like a person rather than a diagnosis or a problem that needs to be fixed.

What you can expect from me

You do not need to come to therapy with the perfect words or even know exactly what you need. We can figure that out together.

Sessions with me are conversational, collaborative, and flexible. Sometimes we will talk through what is happening, sometimes we will learn or practice skills, and sometimes we may use creativity, movement, play, or other experiential approaches. For kids especially, therapy does not have to look like sitting on a couch and talking for an hour.

You can expect compassion, curiosity, honesty, and a therapist who wants to understand the whole person. My goal is to create a space where you or your child feels genuinely understood, supported through the hard things, and more confident moving forward.
