Great to meet you!

Hi, my name is Marissa and I am a licensed professional counselor in private practice who also worked as a middle school counselor for about 15 years. I believe in the therapeutic relationship because I feel you deserve to be heard in a world that can seem so loud and nonstop; while also feeling supported through the work of therapy. So whether you are feeling overwhelmed with life and its constant changes, looking to unpack past traumas, or move forward from a relationship and all that in between; I will provide an empathetic and nonjudgmental space to begin your journey into feeling like you can breathe a little easier again.

My approach to therapy

I provide clients with a warm and welcoming space (at times humorous) that allows you to be whoever it is you are. I believe in being casual and meeting each client where they are at to provide the most appropriate level of individualized care and treatment. I encourage clients to speak openly; to share if something is not working for them so we can continue digging into what can make them feel better. It is a process that takes time, work and commitment to evoke change.

What you can expect from me

Client can expect to take away feeling heard and validated from our sessions. I also strive to provide clients with tools that they can utilize outside of our time together. The work does not stop when the session ends. A universal goal of mine is for all my clients to feel they can 'handle life' outside of our time together and feel equipped to access a variety of coping tools as needed.
