Great to meet you!

Hi, my name is Marissa and I am a licensed professional counselor in private practice who also worked as a middle school counselor for about 15 years. I do this work because I feel you deserve to be heard in this world that can seem so loud now and to have someone do the work with you in your corner. So whether you are feeling overwhelmed with life and its constant changes, looking to unpack past traumas, or move forward from a relationship and all that in between; I will provide an empathetic and nonjudgmental space to begin your journey into feeling like you can breathe a little easier again.

My approach to therapy

I provide clients with a warm and welcoming space that allows you to be whoever it is you are. I believe in being casual and meeting each client where they are at to provide the most appropriate level of individualized care and treatment. I encourage clients to speak openly; to share if something is not working for them so we can continue digging into what can make them feel better. It is a process that takes time, work and commitment to evoke change.

What you can expect from me

Client can expect to take away feeling heard and validated from our sessions. I also strive to provide clients with tools that they can utilize outside of our time together. The work does not stop when the session ends. A universal goal of mine is for all my clients to feel they can 'handle life' outside of our time together and feel equipped to access a variety of coping tools as needed.
