I am licensed in California with 3 years of professional work experience. My name is Marissa Ruiz and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Some of my other titles include mother, wife, ex-wife sister, daughter, niece, grandmother and friend. Sharing these titles are important to me because they represent current relationships and past relationships. My past relationships include grief, trauma and growth. I survived obstacles in my life with the help of a therapist.
I believe in therapy and have worked with couples to overcome obstacles in communication and improve regulating their emotions. I have the desire to help clients with loss, grief, depression, impulsivity and anxiety. I do not have one specific approach because every situation is different. My approach is solely designed for the individual client.
Many of us our exposed or dealing with grief and loss but unable to talk about it. Sometimes we are in relationships that need help with communication or help with regulating our emotions. Clients can expect I will support, listen and guide them to a treatment plan that works for them.
